Moderator
Section titled “Moderator”The moderator is the person who creates the session. There is exactly one moderator per session. The moderator:
- Controls the voting flow (start, reveal, reset, skip, complete)
- Manages the ticket backlog (add, edit, reorder, delete)
- Sets the final estimate for each ticket after votes are revealed
- Can kick players from the session
- Ends the session when all tickets are estimated
The moderator does not vote. This keeps them focused on facilitating the discussion.
See the Moderator Guide for detailed instructions.
Voters are the team members who estimate tickets. Each voter belongs to a group (Frontend, Backend, Mobile, or QA) which determines which tickets they vote on.
- Select an estimation card during voting rounds
- Can change their vote before the reveal
- See the vote summary and statistics after reveal
- Cannot control the session flow
See the Voter Guide for detailed instructions.
Spectator
Section titled “Spectator”Spectators observe without participating. This role is useful for:
- Stakeholders who want to follow along
- Team leads monitoring multiple sessions
- New team members learning the estimation process
Spectators see everything voters see but have no voting cards and no session controls.
See the Spectator Guide for more details.
